My new novel. It's finished and I'm very happy with it. I'm now under way with publishing although still finalizing the cover. I use PublishMe in New Plymouth for my New Zealand hard copy books; then I'll be adapting everything to Amazon's specs and then will come a Kindle version. Then update the website, flyers, blah blah. (In case it's not obvious I'd much rather write than publish.) What's important is that I have finally settled on the title although it took a lot of help from my wife Kath to get there. When she read the final version she had nothing but contempt for my original title. She said 'It doesn't matter that they're old, it's definitely a LOVE story.'
So, at last, I can say for certain that the title is: THE FINE ART OF KINDNESS.
And here, for those who are interested, is the cover blurb.
The Fine Art of Kindness
Sometimes even the smallest kindness is rewarded, somehow; even if it takes a lifetime.
When wealthy old Jack Landseer and the eccentric and even older Betty Krilich meet – apparently by accident – they begin an odd relationship which gradually evolves into one of mutual trust, affection and, yes, love.
Set in small-town provincial New Zealand, The Fine Art of Kindness is a gentle read about two old people who need to overcome their strange and secret past if they are to share their future.
I'll post a preview of the cover as soon as it's ready.
